As we prepare to wrap up the work week, the Medix team checks in with Senior Financial Analyst, Nick! We asked him a few questions to learn about his Medix career and distinct business perspective:
Please explain your current role at Medix.
“I like to consider myself as part of the ‘Data-nance’ team. My Finance role is to provide monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports. Over a year ago, I started to gravitate towards the data-side of the business after being exposed to some of the impacts that it had on the company. From a data perspective, I am more focused on the front-end side delivering reports and visualizations to help leaders make decisions.”
What brought you to this role?
“I am always looking for ways to contribute to the company and strive to innovate others around me. Having both knowledge of the financials as well as the technical side of data allows me to see the business from different perspectives.”
What made you decide to work for Medix?
“The company’s core values and culture. The vision is powerful and contagious and I could sense the passion instilled on the entire team. Because of this, I knew Medix was a team I wanted to be surrounded by.”
What are the characteristics young professionals need to possess to be successful at Medix?
“Young professionals need to possess a purpose, passion and drive. Everything you do is with a purpose. There’s reasoning behind it, it’s how you prepare and it’s how you conduct your day. Your purpose becomes a passion, a belief in your craft which ultimately fuels your drive to success.”
When you’re not working hard at Medix, what are your hobbies?
“You can usually find me in an ice rink playing hockey in leagues or coaching. I started playing when I was 4 years old and was lucky enough to continue to play at the collegiate level as a NCAA student-athlete. I also enjoy playing the guitar, fishing, golfing and traveling.”
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
“Live forever; life is good!”
