You can find Medix teammates following their passions and working to positively impacting throughout the country. In our latest Medix teammate spotlight, we’re heading to the sizzling desert of Arizona to catch up with Michelle, a National Account Manager who may or may not live with a coyote:
Please explain your current role at Medix.
I am a National Account Manager, which means I get the opportunity to work with a few of Medix’s largest clients on a national level. I spend my days working with the internal team and interacting with our clients in order to get our talent to work. As an Account Manager, I play a huge role in the development of my team of Recruiters and TC’s, along with managing the overall business.
What brought you to this role?
I recruited for years and enjoyed working with talent, but I always loved the client engagement piece of my job. When the idea of a National Accounts team came about, I was eager to help open the office and was fortunate to transition in a role that really highlighted my skills and incorporated what I love to do day in and day out.
What made you decide to work for Medix?
I had a high school friend from home in Kansas who worked at Medix and she referred me. I met with the team and knew this was the company for me. We have a young and very energetic team who is eager to succeed and I knew I would fit right in. I have been here for almost eight years and it has been an awesome ride.
What are the characteristics young professionals need to possess to be successful at Medix?
I think a strong work ethic and being able to adapt to challenges easily is key. Our product is people, and that at times it can be great, but there are also frustrations and challenges that come with not being able to control what people do. It is a roller coaster ride, but if they can stick it out, it is very rewarding.
When you’re not working hard at Medix, what are your hobbies?
I love spending time with my husband and our two dogs (we’re pretty certain one of them is a coyote), and we like to entertain friends and family.
What’s your ideal summer weekend?
I live in Arizona; it gets really hot here. It was 115 last weekend, so my summer started early! My ideal summer weekend includes hanging out in the pool with friends. We seem to have people over every weekend when it is hot, probably because we have a pool!
