You can catch Medix teammates across the country showing distinctive individuality, facing challenges head on and always seeking out new opportunities! This week’s Medix teammate spotlight features Tyler, who shares some insights into a unique position within the organization and declares his love for tunes and barbeque sauce!
Please explain your current role at Medix.
I currently work on the Talent Innovation team as a Solutions Engineer (SE). As a SE, I am responsible for supporting the field in all aspects of Medix Intelligence (MI), and the various solutions that we can provide for our clients. I am tasked with the following: increasing the company-wide MI knowledge base; assisting the sales and delivery teams in explaining MI to their respective target groups; going before clients as a MI subject matter expert; and helping with the continuous improvement and evolution of Medix Intelligence.
What brought you to this role?
Before Medix, I previously worked in the staffing industry as both a Recruiter and an Account Executive. After seeing success in both of those roles, I was still feeling unfulfilled and wanted to make a larger impact on an organizational level. Throughout my career, I had always been intrigued by innovation and process improvement in the workplace, but unfortunately I never had an opportunity to directly affect those areas. I found the Solutions Engineer role to be a great fit based on my background, interests, and passion; and after meeting the rest of the TI team, I knew this was where I belonged!
What made you decide to work for Medix?
A bit of a shout out here – Medix’s VP of Field Operations directly influenced my decision to make Medix my new home. I first met him when I was in college, and his passion for Medix as an organization, the people, and Medix’s impact on him and his family really came through in every conversation. His follow-up throughout the years played a significant role in keeping Medix at the front of my mind. After hearing about the strides Medix was making in incorporating IO Psychology into its business practices, I knew the company was ahead of the curve and I needed to hop on board.
What are the characteristics young professionals need to possess to be successful at Medix?
Accountability, time management, and communication styles – no matter what role you are in the company, mastering the trifecta of those three would be really set you up for success here at Medix.
When you’re not working hard at Medix, what are your hobbies?
Music! I love playing music, seeing live shows, or checking out new artists. I’m also always down for trying out a new restaurant or bar!
What’s your favorite food to eat at a summer barbecue?
Ribs all the way!
