According to Mashable, mobile-app usage grew 115 percent in 2013. As mobile usage continues to sky rocket, naturally, things like the job search will become more mobile-friendly, as well. Job searching apps are becoming more popular, so we wanted to share a few with you to help your job hunt go mobile:
CareerBuilder (Android and iOS)
CareerBuilder’s jobs app is incredibly easy to use and allows job seekers to search by keywords, location and/or company. Some other features include, browsing recommended jobs, finding jobs similar to ones you have viewed, saving jobs, emailing job postings to yourself or friends and applying to jobs directly. It also allows users to sync their resumes, cover letters, saved jobs and applied-to jobs with their CareerBuilder account.
Indeed Job Search (Android and iOS)
Indeed.com is a very popular job board, so naturally, they have made a rather useful app! Like the site, the app lets job seekers look for jobs by filtering the results based on industry, location, salary and more. You can also apply directly through our phone, set up email alerts and save jobs to apply to later on.
Moving to a new area or looking to cut down your commute? JobCompass would be a great app for you. This app focuses on finding you jobs nearby by filtering results based on your zip code. It also uses your phone’s GPS to show you where the opportunity is on a map in relation to your location. Like the others, you can apply directly through the app and email the position to yourself or a friend.
LinkedIn (Android and iOS)
We all know LinkedIn as the hugely popular professional networking site, and its app’s networking function lives up to the site! Aside from professionals networking, LinkedIn is also a great job board that allows you to search for positions based on your industry, date posted, salary and other criteria.
