Medix Implements Student Loan Repayment Program

(Chicago) February 8, 2017 – As the student loan bubble continues to grow, the average person with student loans is $31,000 in debt. Medix, a national organization specialized in workforce solutions and recruiting skilled personnel for clients in Healthcare, Scientific and Information Technology industries, partnered with Peanut Butter to implement a student loan repayment program that will mitigate the burdens of student debt for internal teammates.

“With 68 percent of college-educated workers in their twenties and 49 percent in their thirties bogged down by student loan debt, many young professionals are having a difficult time establishing themselves,” said Mike Ceretto, Medix’s Vice President of People and Performance. “Medix teammates worked hard in school to become amazing professionals who positively impact lives of clients and talent, so we want to do our part by positively impacting our teammates’ lives in return.”

Along with Medix-sponsored contributions to employees’ loans, this program also provides third-party guidance to manage student loans and access to a refinancing marketplace that ensures broad coverage and clear terms.

Research from Willis Towers Watson says about four percent of employers offer student loan assistance today, but projects that number will reach 20 percent by 2018.

  1. I have been blessed to connect with several of your very kind and professional recruiters via LinkedIn. I was drawn to read about Medix on LinkedIn this morning, so I’ve been learning about your company here. I must share some very positive feedback!

    The down-to-earth, caring comments made by Medix’s Vice President of People and Performance, Mr. Mike Ceretto, may to some sound “simple,” but they are not. He is keenly aware of a crucial factor that totally affects employee engagement- expressing appreciation and showing appreciation to Medix’s employees, both by words and by action. In my own words, this was my take away from Mr. Ceretto’s comments. “I (we) care a lot about you. We value you and your contributions here @ Medix. We want you to be happy working here. We support a healthy work-life balance because we genuinely care about each and every one of you. We also recognize the many stressors that can impact anyone, a significant one of which is a large, looming student loan from college (as per the article, he describes the really incredible student loan payback benefit),

    I am a huge proponent of the Gallup Q12 Employee Engagement Survey. Whether or not it is utilized by Medix, Medix is doing much of what this proven study suggests in order to have highly engaged employees. I’m also aware that the “tone and feel” of a company from an employee perspective starts at the top level of management. I love his title “Vice President of People and Performance.” Away with those job titles that sound so unfriendly. Think of the word “People.” That sounds human, very positive.

    I would feel very comfortable and “at home” with a company who resonates “we care” and backs those words up with action. It does not need to be monetarily…in fact, for me, I’d rather have a consistently positive, honest, open, very communicative and joyful workplace.

    I have a very strong feeling this is already the culture and environment within Medix.
