Here at Medix, we have talented teammates who specialize in more than one area, inside and outside of the office! In our most recent teammate spotlight, meet our teammate Lauren, a HEDIS expert at Medix and a heroic mom at home!

Please explain your current role at Medix.

“My role is a Strategic Business Development Manager for a few of our national health plan partners. I am responsible for building and developing relationships within Clinical Operations, providing a consultative approach in identifying challenges and potential solutions, and acting as a resource for our talent and/or clients in this space.”

What brought you to this role?

“As our division healthcare continues to change and evolve, I have found an interest and a passion to follow along and stay abreast of new policies or regulations. I want to be able to anticipate the needs of our customers through these changing times and, together, develop a solution that will help them continue to excel within their craft.”

What made you decide to work for Medix?

“When I came in for an interview in the Medix office, seven years ago, I fell in love with the high energy environment, the welcoming team members and the idea that I can help others find employment that makes them happy as well.”

What’s your favorite part about working for Medix?

“My favorite part about working for Medix is the relationships that I have built both internally and externally with my clients and talent. Friends have truly turned into family!”

What is HEDIS season, and how do you help our team during this time of year?

“HEDIS (Health Effectiveness Data Information Set) is data collection and analysis to determine clinical quality effectiveness of a health plan. HEDIS data collection is a random sample of health plan members to evaluate overall performance from plan to plan. Think ‘Yelp’ for a health plan. In preparation of HEDIS season, I meet with clients to discuss with their upcoming HEDIS season, how many records they anticipate needing to collect and develop a staffing model.”

When you’re not working hard at Medix, what are your hobbies?

“I have seven month old twins, Blake and Sophia. When I’m not working I am at home enjoying the smiles, giggles and cuddles. My husband is a huge Halloween fanatic, so this year we dressed up as Jurassic Park with our two little dinosaurs!”

What’s your all-time favorite fall time activity?

“This is a tough one, as fall is my favorite season!! If I had to pick one, I would say my favorite fall activity is carving pumpkins!”
