Disorganization can be a problem at work, because it’s really hard to concentrate when your calendar is a mess, your inbox is flooded and there is a stack of paper a mile high on your desk. As we close out National “Get Organized Week,” we wanted to share advice to help you organize your work day. Follow these tips:

Re-Organize Your Filing

Whether its electronic or printed documents, you should revisit your organizational system. Go through your folders, get rid of documents you no longer need and move important ones to more accessible locations to help yourself find things you need in less time.

Prioritize Your To-Do List

If done correctly, to-do lists are a great way to stay organized and prevent tasks from falling through the cracks. The key to a functional to-do list is prioritization. Go through your projects, list the most important ones at the top and go from there. This will help give you a better idea how to plan out your days and weeks.

Tidy Up Your Desk

Before you leave work today, make cleaning your desk a priority. Toss the old post-it notes, de-clutter your drawers and clear off the surface of your desk. Trust us, you will be glad to sit down at a clean desk on Monday morning!

If you’re busy at work, organization might not always be a high priority, but it should be. Staying organized can help simplify your day-to-day work, so follow our tips and end “Get Organized Week” on a good note!
