From coast-to-coast, you will find hard-working Medix teammates who all have one thing in common – the drive to positively impact lives. For our latest Medix teammate spotlight, we’re looking at Orange County, California, where James, one of our Account Executives, is creating opportunity for clients and talent within the Scientific industry. Here is more about James:
Please explain your current role at Medix.
“I am an Account Executive for our Scientific division here in Southern California. Our clients are predominately Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies in the San Diego and Orange County area. It’s an exciting task to sell in a new territory and to grow our division in a new market.”
What do you enjoy about your job?
“I love being able to partner with companies that are conducting ground-breaking research. It’s exciting to tell candidates that a client is progressing research to find cures for cancer and other life-altering diseases. My position has provided me an opportunity to meet so many people in the industries we serve who are passionate about leaving an impact on the world.”
What made you decide to work for Medix?
“The level of responsibility and the autonomy that Medix provides to young professionals is what made me decide to work here. From day one of my time at Medix, I was able to play an active role in growing our office and increasing business for our organization.”
What are the characteristics young professionals need to possess to be successful at Medix?
“Young professionals need to possess drive and tenacity. In the staffing industry, there a number of obstacles that we cannot always control because of the human element that exists. A coach that I had growing up always told me there are only three things you can control in life: your attitude, your energy and your effort. If you can come in to work each day and control those three things, you will have a great foundation to be successful.”
When you’re not working hard at Medix, what are your hobbies?
“I am huge fan of the water. When I am not at work, I’m typically at the beach or at the river, boating and riding my single ski. I am also a huge sports fan. I try to go to as many Anaheim Ducks and Angels games as I can.”
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
“Definitely a dog person. Growing up, my dad was a K9 officer and instilled a great love of dogs in us. We always had police trained German Shepherds, and at one point had six dogs; everything from a pug to a bull mastiff.”
