Hiring managers reviewing resumes have seen it all, but what they’ve seen the most of are those overused, boring words and phrases that have been baked into resumes for decades. If you’re finding yourself writing in cliches, it’s time to spice things up with some resume action words!
Previously, we’ve touched on the reasons why job seekers should infuse their application with powerful resume action words. While it’s important to outline your role responsibilities and experience for employers, it’s even more important to bring these sections to life by clearly illustrating the impact you made in previous jobs.
For example, instead of “Coordinating team projects with excellent organizational skills,” maybe the applicant, “Accelerated the growth of web page traffic by optimizing site SEO.” By getting specific and using exciting terminology, a bland line on a resume can suddenly come to life!
