You can find Medix teammates across the country working hard to positively impact lives, while following their personal passions. Sometimes, the next step in a career comes at the perfect time professionally and personally. In our latest Medix teammate spotlight, we’re checking in with Meghan, who wanted to be closer to her family and found her right fit along the way:
Please explain your current role at Medix.
My current role at Medix is a Solutions Engineer with the Talent Innovation team. Within this position, I’ll  streamline and organize our product/service offerings for talent and clients. I’ll provide sales support through leading strategic calls, consulting on various opportunities, collaborate with the sales team to create solutions that fit our clients’ specific needs, and ultimately help our team to increase our opportunity to deliver an even more outstanding recruitment service to our talent and clients across the country.
What brought you to this role?
After working with Medix for one year as an Allied Recruitment Advisor, I was ready to take the next step in my career, as well as move back to Denver to be closer to family. The Solutions Engineer role became available and allowed me to apply my experience from recruiting, as well as past experience I have working with other organizations, while working with our Denver team. It was such a great fit!
What made you decide to work for Medix?
I was at a crossroads in my career and was looking for a company I could work for that offered an amazing culture, believed in what they did each day and would develop me as a professional. When I first met with the Medix team, I was blown away. I didn’t think companies like Medix existed; I had only read about them in books! From the moment I walked in the door, I felt like I was part of an amazing team. The team truly cared about each other and wanted to see each other succeed. What impressed me the most is that everyone was so positive and happy. The pit was buzzing with energy, fun conversations and people living it up while they were working! It was because of this phenomenal culture, the team members that interviewed me and the stories I heard them tell about talent that made me cross my fingers I’d get the job.
What are the characteristics young professionals need to possess to be successful at Medix?
To be successful at Medix, you need to believe in and live our core values. While our team is supportive and offers great guidance, what it really comes down to is believing in what we’re doing. Any job will require hard work, dedication, learning and development and performing to expectations – Medix is no different. But at the end of the day, a person will feel that their work is valued by believing in our team, helping our talent find opportunities and positively impacting the lives around us. If a person can lock arms with their peers, never give up, shows their willingness to do what others won’t and desires to serve others, they will be successful with the team.
When you’re not working hard at Medix, what are your hobbies?
When I’m not working, I spend a lot of time with my family, especially my three-year-old nephew. He loves playing with minions, so I’ve become very familiar with all things “Despicable Me” and can tell the difference between Stuart, Jerry and Kevin.  Now that I’m back in Colorado, I’m spending more time hiking around. When the snow hits, I plan to pick up skiing again. Volunteering and “paying it forward” is extremely important to me, so I’ve started working with the Alzheimer’s Association and am working towards becoming a mentor with Greenhouse Scholars. I also love Netflix shows. I’ve never seen Game of Thrones and am trying to binge watch all the seasons now – wish me luck!
What is the best present you’ve ever received?
A puppy at Christmas! On Christmas morning, in front of the fireplace, there was a little dog with a red bow on its neck. We named him Ziggy!
