(Milwaukee, Wisconsin) March 19, 2018 – Medix, a national organization specialized in workforce solutions and recruiting skilled personnel for clients in Scientific, Healthcare and Information Technology industries, was a title sponsor of the eighth annual Grand Slam Charity Jam, an event benefitting Camp Hometown Heroes, a free week-long summer camp for kids who lost a parent or sibling serving in the U.S. military.
“We were excited to lock arms with Camp Hometown Heroes again for one of their largest fundraisers, Grand Slam Charity Jam. The Medix team is honored to be part of such a special night full of fun and purpose,” said Andrew Limouris, President and CEO of Medix. “Thanks to the combined efforts of many Camp Hometown Heroes supporters, a grand total of $125,000 was raised to go directly toward supporting the children and siblings of fallen U.S. military members. Knowing these funds are going toward improving the experience for each camper and welcoming more kids to Camp Hometown Heroes makes supporting the Grand Slam Charity Jam that much more special.”
The 2018 Grand Slam Charity Jam was held on Saturday, March 17 at Milwaukee’s Wisconsin Center. Throughout the night, there was live entertainment provided by Hannah Mrozak of The Voice, and The David Pack Legends Band with current and former vocalists of Mr. Mister, Ringo Starr & the All Starr Band, BoDeans, Ambrosia and Romantics. The Grand Slam Charity Jam also featured top-level silent and live auctions featuring more than 200 items, including autographed guitars by James Taylor, Les Paul, Michael McDonald and more. The charity dinner, cocktail reception and auctions raised the funds benefitting the free, week-long camp for children and siblings of fallen U.S. military members.
“The children who attend camp have experienced harder times than most can begin to imagine. Losing a parent at such a young age, in such a devastating way takes a toll on children,” said Limouris. “We are so proud to support an organization who makes it their mission to impact these kids’ lives in the best possible way.”
In addition to Medix’s title sponsorship, the event was also sponsored by Kapco Metal Stamping, Aurora Healthcare and the Milwaukee Admirals.
