Asking questions during a job interview is a great way to get more information about the position and company. If fact, asking questions is so important that failing to do so is deemed as a huge misstep. Furthermore, asking generic questions like, “So what does this position do?” is also a misstep because it shows you have not prepared. Questions about the Company
Ask in-depth questions about the company, as it gives you more opportunity to learn about and connect with the organization on a deeper level. You should have done preliminary research, so make sure these questions aren’t surface level and could be answered by simply looking at the company’s website.

Example 1: What makes this position hard, and how did you learn to overcome that challenge?

Example 2: What qualities should one possess to excel at this position?

Questions about Personal Experience
Create a connection between yourself and your interviewer by asking questions about his/her personal experience with the company.

Example 1: What has your experience at company ABC been like?

Example 2: What is your favorite part about your job?

Questions to Build Recruiter’s Credibility
Help build trust between you and the interviewer by asking questions that build his/her credibility and expertise in the field.

Example 1: How do you find candidates?

There are a variety of questions you can ask to show your engagement and interest in the position for which you’re interviewing.
