So, what is there supposed to be included into the covid 19’s gap? i mean, if there it is been impossible to work because of the Pandemic then how can be filled that time gap? Well, I made some courses but they are not job experience but solely job capabilities additional courses that I included in my Education section. But my real last job ended December 31, and then it has been just impossible to get a new job. So how can I fill that gap in my Experience section?.
Hi William! These are great questions. The most important thing to do when dealing with any sort of gap in employment is to be upfront and honest about the situation with a potential employer. All businesses have been affected by COVID-19 in one way or another, and your interviewer should be understanding of the state of the economy job seekers have been facing in the last few months. Filling this time with continued education, volunteer work and other activity can also be an extremely positive when explaining a gap; it shows that you’re still committed to growing as a professional during this time. I hope this helps, and thank you for commenting today!

I haven’t worked in years so how do I fill that kind of gap in being unemployed?
Hi Carla! No matter the length of the gap, it’s important to be honest with employers about it. Rather than misrepresenting this period, try to focus in on the things you did accomplish during this time. Whether you took classes, participated in volunteer activities or supported family members, find a way to tell your story in a way that can connect to the opportunity at hand. Sometimes, grit and determination can mean more to an interviewer than experience alone. I hope this helps, and thank you for reaching out today!
